Note #1
Submitted By: Rosenet Technician
This init string applies only for Macintosh users
MC288MT - Init = AT&F3 This modem with the above init string tends to stop moving data after about 600K-1MB of transfer on some Mac systems. A better init string seems to be:
AT&F0&C1&D2&K3&Q5L0S11=50
AT&F0 resets the modem to Hayes compatible defaults.
AT&F1 resets the modem to factory (Prac. Periph.) defaults.
AT&F2 resets the modem to Macintosh software flow control defaults.
AT&F3 resets the modem to Macintosh hardware flow control defaults.
&K3 sets hardware flow control.
&Q5 sets V.42 compression with error control.
Most newer Practical Peripherals modems work on Macintosh computers with an init string of:
AT&F&C1&D0
or on PCs:
AT&F
