Davicom makes chipsets, not actual modems.

Davicom is NOT a modem manufacturer, they are a chipset manufacturer (much like Rockwell, PCtel and Texas Instruments). Any modem that identifies itself as a "Davicom Modem" does so because the manufacturer did not want to brand the modem with their own name or spend any time/energy/effort/money developing their own drivers. Because of this, it will be necessary to properly identify the actual manufacturer before getting new drivers, getting upgrades, etc. If you are having problems with your Davicom modem here are a few resources... (many thanks going to the gentleman at Davicom that provided this information - NO, you CANNOT have his e-mail address, so DON'T ask)

The following companies are known (by me) to use Davicom chipsets in some of their modems. You may want to try searching their web sites for pertinent information...
    Archtek
    Askey Computer Corporation
    Phoebe Micro
    Thundermax Corporation
    United Micro Controllers
    Wisecom, Inc.

A PDF (Adobe Acrobat) document which contains the generic AT command set for Davicom based modems has been provided to me. Remember that these are generic settings and may have been altered, changed, deleted, etc. by the modem manufacturer.
