This string seems to remedy a great number of disconnect problems that we encounter Model: LT WinModem V.90

S37=17S38=0-V90=0S25=40
This one has worked where line noise was causing V.90 negotiations to fail and consequentially caused poor V.34 connections. S37=17 creates a max connect speed of 28.8K. S38=0 disables 56flex. -V90=0 disables V90. Check out the following web site for more info:

Disables V90 and 56K negotiations for areas where this is a problem. Model: Venus V.90 Modems

S109=0+MS=V34
Turns off V.90 and forces V.34 (33,600 or slower) connections. This is necessary when quality of phone lines prevents 56K connections. In theory, just using +MS=V34 will turn off V.90 negotitation attempts, but we had much better luck explicitly disabling V.90 (S109=0) and then forcing V.34 (+MS=V34).
